Bringing fresh perspectives and real enthusiasm for the world of specialist finance.
At Truffle, we recently had the pleasure of welcoming two bright and driven students from the University of Bath for a work experience day: Max Woodman and Dan Thomas. As students studying Business Management and Economics respectively, both with a placement year, they brought fresh perspectives, energy, and an eagerness to learn that was truly refreshing to have in the office.
It was clear from the outset that Max and Dan are already thinking several steps ahead in their careers. Max, with a clear passion for investment management and long-term goals in real estate, demonstrated a thoughtful approach to understanding how finance works in the real world. Dan expressed a keen interest in the kind of specialist finance we offer at Truffle—particularly in bridging and development loans. His thoughtful questions and observations showed just how switched on he is when it comes to exploring niche areas of finance.
These kinds of interactions are what make initiatives like this so valuable. It’s hugely beneficial—for them, and for us. For the students, it’s a chance to step beyond textbooks and into a working environment where they can ask questions, see how deals are structured, and get a taste of real-world finance. For us, it’s an opportunity to see things from the fresh perspective of the next generation—who come in hungry to learn, full of ideas, and ready to make an impact.
We’re big believers in giving young people the opportunity to engage with the industry early, and experiences like this remind us just how much potential is out there. Huge thanks to Max and Dan for spending the day with us. We’re sure both of them have bright futures ahead—and we look forward to seeing where their journeys in finance take them.
